SWASTHA'S PRODUCTS:

Swastha's specially-abled children are trained in various skills so they can be a dignified, financially-independent, integrated part of society. The goal is to make the differently-abled not just self-sufficient but to grow them into people with self-esteem and a sense of purpose.

There are two-broad sections of this skill-training; printing and tailoring. One has to see the dedication of the staff and the children to believe it. As one walks through Swastha's premises you see children making office stationery, greeting cards with pressed flowers gathered from the lush surroundings of Coorg, hand-made paper, recycled and green products. The children from Swastha work with focus and dedication as they churn out non-woven, hand-made bags, coasters and paper-cups. The art and finesse in tailoring can be seen in the samples of ethnic lacing on towels, suits and sari covers that they bring out. The smile on their faces as they work adds to the value of their products in intangible ways.

Complicated-looking printing machines are handled with ease as thirteen years of skill-training comes into play as they print various office stationery, such as letter- heads, envelopes and flat-files.

It is a matter of pride that the products made by Swastha are in demand not just in the state but across India.
