AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Swastha’s director Ms. Ganga Changappa has dedicated the better part of her life to community service and it is small wonder that she received the Rajiv Gandhi Manav Seva Award for her outstanding contribution towards child welfare. She also received the FICCI award in 1999 in Munnar. Her leadership, along with that of  Ms. Arathy Somaiah who heads the Sunticoppa branch and the entire team at Swastha has taken this thirteen- year old initiative to great heights.

Being differently-abled did not deter the students of Swastha from putting up a 21-day road show to campaign for Tata Global Beverages Ltd’s  ‘Power of 49’ (an initiative  to get  women to vote) across all estates. The very launch of CSR projects was done with skits by the children.

In the field of sport, they participated in ‘The Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games’ which was held at New Castle, Australia in 2013 and three students came back with medals.

Swastha has such recognition and in-depth experience that not only did it receive the award for the best  school in the state in 2006 but is recognized by all universities in Karnataka for students of Masters in Social Work,  Bachelors in Social Work and Psychology to do their project  work at. The students come from various reputed colleges including Mysore & Mangalore University, Christ College and Symbiosis University.

Swastha has attracted the attention of major corporates such as Infosys India Ltd, who had an exhibition of Swastha’s product line. Starbucks spends time with Swastha regularly during their visits.
