Our Objectives
The objectives of the foundation are to promote and secure the welfare of the people of Coorg and to help resolve the economic, ecological, environmental and social problems of the district. The Coorg Foundation has been working for the betterment of Coorg, it's people and environment since 1995.

Our vision is to promote and secure the upliftment, well being and welfare of the people of Coorg and our mission is to support the people of Coorg through healthcare, education, sports, culture and environment.

Success Stories
  • Project Tapovana: The ecological restoration of grassy blanks was initiated in 2001 and funded by The Coorg Foundation. This is a unique initiative involving the Karnataka Forest Department.
  • 175 Students were successfully placed in different sectors over the last 10 years.
  • Sports Australia: Mr. Mandanna, Mr. Gagan Goutham, Mr. Arun, students of Swastha and Mr.Biju, the special educator, took part in the Special Olympics in Australia. They won one gold, two silver and one bronze medal.
  • CBR Medical Aid: Our Community Rehabilitation team has successfully intervened and helped two children undergo multiple surgeries to fully rectify their physical defects, prior to which, doctors had told the parents that nothing could be done.
  • 3 girl self-help groups were formed for an entrepreneurship program.
  • The students of Swastha had put up a 21-day road show to campaign for Tata Global Beverages Ltd, the ‘Power of 49’ (an initiative to get women to vote) across all estates.

  • Extending a community-based rehabilitation program to cover all the 3 talukas of Kodagu District.

Community Based Rehabilitation Program (CBR)

The present focus of Tata Coffee Limited (TCL) is to support Swastha's initiative of the Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Program to help reintegrate children into active society. A team of dedicated people, work tirelessly to achieve the goal of taking count of every specially-abled person in Kodagu and linking them according to their needs, to all the available services from the government. In Sunticoppa and Somwarpet the coverage is almost 100% and now this initiative has moved to Madikeri.
